Grimy Times Weathering was established in 2010 and such was the popularity and large customer base that the business quickly outgrew our premises. However, in August 2015, the opportunity arose to take over over a long established model railway specialist shop in Warrington, Cheshire. The workshops were moved to these new premises and the shop was developed.
The shop has built up an excellent range of products that are attractively displayed. This includes displays of pre-weathered locomotives that are available for purchase. Concentrating on British outline, the shop stocks a wide range of ready to run models and accessories from the main manufacturers including Hornby, Bachmann, Graham Farish, Peco, Modelscene, Gaugemaster, Wills, Ratio, Metcalfe, Sankey Scenics and Geoscenics - just to mention a few. In addition a growing range of materials and accessories is also available.

Steve still specialises in weathering and custom finished models including renaming and renumbering. An attractive display of locomotives is available for purchase in the shop. A DCC fitting and repair service is also available.
As well as new stock the shop carries a range of quality second hand items including locomotives, rolling stock, buildings and accessories.
The Shop is open 10.00a.m. to 4.00p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday & Saturday
Closed Sundays, Mondays & Thursdays

by public transport
If using public transport, catch a number 21 bus from Warrington Bus Station (Close to Central Railway Station) - (frequency every about every 15 minutes). Alight at "The Queens", Orford Lane. Continue in the same direction for about twenty yards and you will see the shop on the opposite side of the road just before the pelican crossing.
on foot
If walking, from Market Gate at the centre of town proceed northwards along Horsemarket Street then Winwick Street (passing Central Station) then fork right by the Lord Rodney pub into Pinners Brow then straight across by the lights into Orford Lane. The shop is at number 187 on the right hand side past the bend and just before the second pelican crossing. Walking time approximately15/20 minutes.
